Having trained and competed in Muay Thai and MMA for 12 years, I then moved into Powerlifting and competed at an elite level winning titles across the world in multiple federations. I then started my functional fitness journey and have competed in elite CrossFit events across the UK and Ireland, to Norway, Miami and beyond. 


Studying advanced personal training and coaching with the National Academy of Sport Medicine, I have also learnt from leading elite athletic coaches across the world of strongman, CrossFit, powerlifting and athletic strength and conditioning. 


I have an incredible passion for fitness and the power fitness has on mental and physical recovery and cannot wait to welcome you to our sessions.

I had limited exposure to sport growing up. Although I was involved with different things like rugby, mountain biking and other extreme-style sports, I never found myself being able to connect with one. This led to me becoming overweight, reaching almost 115kg in weight. One day something clicked and I wanted to change - the day after my 18th birthday when I found myself in the garden doing kettlebell swings and burpees.


Since finding CrossFit I’ve created a family of people who help and support me, and have created a platform for me to help others.

My goals going forward are to add the CrossFit Sanctional competitions I’ve competed at on both a team and individual basis!

Sport has always been a huge part of my life and since starting CrossFit 6 years ago, I have seen the positive effects functional fitness training can have on physical and mental health in myself and others around me.

With a background in football, rugby, sailing and watersports, I'm passionate about using the mobility and movement patterns in functional fitness to improve your sport.

As well as continuing to compete in CrossFit and Olympic lifting myself, the chance to help others experience the same effect it has had on me is something that I'm really excited about. 

TAMSIN FULLER

Trainee Coach

I first entered the gym a very shy and unconfident 19-year-old. I would do everything and anything to get away with not exercising and became very lazy in my teens! This changed when I walked into a CrossFit gym one day and found a community. It’s now been four years and I love what I do. It’s enabled me to meet people that inspire me daily and competing has taken me to multiple countries.


I’m always grateful for the people that have supported me from the beginning to where I am now. This has led to the desire to specialise in developing and coaching kids, teens and prenatal and postpartum mothers. I’m excited to be part of people’s daily lives and helping improve both their physical and mental wellbeing. I believe there are no limits to where and when you can start.

CRAIG MCIVOR

Trainee Move Forward Coach

  • Our first future Move Forward Coach

As a Royal Marine, I started dabbling in Powerlifting. After leaving the Royal Marines a couple of years ago, I carried on weightlifting but thought I’d give this “CrossFit” everyone kept mentioning and fell in love with it straight away.

Then, in 2018, I started to have “seizures”, little episodes of extreme lack of concentration. An MRI confirmed a large tumour on the left side of my skull for which I've had an operation, radiotherapy and chemo. 

I'm now facing a second operation and further treatment, but for years I've thought about becoming a fitness coach. Now I'm going to do it!

HYWEL THOMAS

I've been a Royal Marines Commando for 13 years. In that time I've experienced some life-changing moments - a Tour of Afghanistan, Arctic survival training, abseiling into Wembley stadium and jumping out of helicopters. 

In that time I've also progressed my love for fitness and for coaching, most recently taking on further courses with British Weightlifting and CAWS Rebuild - a qualification specifically designed to help people post-COVID. 


Here in Devon, I love nothing more than open water swimming and leading military-style treks across Dartmoor. Can't wait to meet you all and get coaching at Move Forward Gym!
