Check us out in Exeter Living!

We were honoured to catch up with the editors of Exeter Living last month for a chat about all things wellbeing, community, Move Forward Gym and the Battle Cancer Program.

Check out what they wrote about us! A few Q&As below, and you can read the full interview along with the rest of the issue online here.

Q. Loads of people are doing exercise at home now. What are the benefits of working out at a gym?

A. Motivation. It can be so difficult to motivate yourself, even via Zoom, to work your hardest in a workout. Our coaches are energetic, dynamic, and will encourage you to get the best out of every session - as will the other members in the class. The atmosphere and camaraderie created with music pumping alongside others under our cool red light installation is hard to beat.

Q. What about the mental health side of things?

A. Working out gives people headspace from their busy lifestyles. We're bombarded with a constant stream of to-dos, notifications, multi-tasking, household chores, work, family... the list goes on and on. One hour of just focussing on yourself and being away from your phone can give people a mental break as well as a physical release - even if it's just a few times a week.

Regular exercise has been found to have a profoundly positive impact on depression and anxiety - both of which are on the rise in modern times. Working out also relieves stress, improves memory, help you sleep better and boosts your overall mood.

A big thank you to our lovely PRs at @TheLuxleyWay for the introduction to Harriet and the team at Exeter Living.
